Biodetection of hydrogen sulphide gas - what common plants or animals are sensitive?

We live in a geothermal area and would like to detect potentially lethal concentrations of H2S around mineral pools. Any suggestions for plant or animal detectors (and yes, we already thought of canaries, but would prefer an invertebrate)

  1. sorry i can't remember the name, but maybe it can help you search.

There is a fish that produces an electric field, which you can detect with an oscilloscope probe in the water, that becomes stressed by the tiniest amount of poisonous gas dissolved in its tank. When the fish becomes stressed, the field changes, and you can see this on the scope.

sorry i cant remember the name.
