  1. The best place to start is by searching the Internet.

There are several websites that will help you figure out how to produce bio diesel at home.

If you want to build a business there are multiple sites for that also.

There are federal and state grants to assist in building a business but you need to supply front money.

Here are some websites that I found help full.

    www.biodiesel.org

    www.eere.energy.gov

But a good web search will pull thousands of links dealing with bio diesel.

  2. If you can get old oil from local take-aways & restraunts then it makes envronmental & economic sense.

    http://www.lowimpact.org/courseoutlinebi...

residential weekend course covers everything from small home-made plant, to the chemistry involved in biodiesel production; supply of used cooking oil and other chemicals; vehicle considerations; Environment Agency and VAT law £120-180

also Centre for Alternative Technology http://www.cat.org.uk/courses/crs_conten...

an extra advantage of residential course is you get to learn about the wider context & meet like minded people. CAT is well worth a visit

  3. don't bother. it takes more energy to produce biodiesel  than the energy that you get out of the end product, plus it burns alot faster than fossil fuel so you will be payin out more money to top up all the time.

  4. I know you use cooking oil, enrich it with methane gas and use caustic soda as the catalyst.

  5. it's to much work for just one person

  6. Don't bother.

  7. tesco or sains

  8. Buy a pre 1985 mercedes diesel and run waste vetable oil, like I do.

  9. try corn- they get the corn  extracts from the corn in the midwest. also ethanol.   oo and soyyy. a bus runnings on 1 acre of soy goes 250 miles

  10. Check out this website.  It tells you all the options and links you to several other websites that can tell you all you want to know about it.

  11. This is the simplest method and explanation I have seen.

    http://www.kitchen-biodiesel.com/

    Good luck!

  12. Journeyforever is a very good web site. First learn how to make it through reading. Do you want to use pure oils or refined? No metal tubing is required. Sodium Hydroxide, potassium and oils are blended together and washed to create a chemical reaction. Very easy to do on a small scale, large scale is more difficult.
