What Is Biofuel Used For? Is It safe for the enviornment?

Here is the question: Is biofuel the answer? Can someone calculate how much land will be used to plant in order to support biofuel sufficient to replace 25% of vehicles that use fossil feul today? Biofuel may relieve some needs from fossil fuel but it's not the long term answer either.

It's the same as plant produced or carbon subtracted gasoline nonetheless.

Fact of the matter is, we use oil wells because once tapped they don't stop.

Make use of it and maybe..

1) Buy

2) Sell

3) ? ? ?

4) Profit.

Organic fuels exist with practically no damage. Sustainable and wholesomely regenerated too.

So why do we not use them?

Good question.

Let's ask the global consumer mass who continues to be a slave to something that just works.

As safe as any other fuel for a diesel engine. Must be very fine filtered.

Google would really help here. Ive heard the term used to refer to deisel obtained from organic matter, but im not sure of that

Biofeul can be used for anything that you would normally use gasoline for.  In fact it as meant to replace gasoline eventually.  Yes it is safe for the enviornment. It has little, very often no harmful emissions.

It's fuel made from a biological source.  Corn can be used to make alcohol, vegetable oil can be made into diesel oil.

Whether it's better for the environment is a tossup.  Alcohol fuel has been shown to cause an increase in particulate pollution, I think.  And some studies show it takes more energy to make the alcohol than you get back from it.  That energy comes from burning petroleum fuels.  I'm not aware of any problems with biodiesel, but I haven't read much about it.  Maybe the only problems will be that your Mercedes develops high cholesterol?
