I need help saving the world!!!?

well, im trying to write a letter to get the local gas stations to install a biofuel pump. this is the definition for people who dont know what they are: biofuel is defined as liquid or gas transportation fuel derived from biomass. Biomass can also be used directly for heating or power: this is commonly called biomass fuel: see biomass heating systems. Biofuel is considered an important means of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing energy security by providing a viable alternative to fossil fuels.Biofuels are used globally: biofuel industries are expanding in Europe, Asia and the Americas. The most common use for biofuels is in automotive transport . Biofuel can be produced from any carbon source that can be replenished rapidly e.g. plants. Many different plants and plant-derived materials are used for biofuel manufacturers. but im having trouble getting started. does anyone have some ideas on what i should write in my letter?

  1. Only in America would we burn food in our cars!

  2. Tell them you recently purchased a 'multi-fuel' vehicle and want to run 'E-85' or Bio-Diesel in it, and want to know why they don't sell it. If you don't have a vehicle that runs E-85 or Bio-diesel, then you need to get one.  Today's cars are designed to run on a very narrow blend of gasoline, or diesel and it is not an easy process to convert them.  It can also be illegal in some instances - depending on the state you live in. GM has started selling 'Multi-fuel' vehicles that run both E-85 or unleaded gasoline. I'm sure that other car makers will start doing this too.

Writing a letter to a business is a great idea, but you need to be able to buy the fuel (establish a demand for the product) before they will spend lots of money to convert their fuel systems to bio-fuels. This process of converting fuels for mass quantities of vehicles is a slow process when business is involved - they want to see the demand for the product first, then they will invest the big $$$ to bring it to the customer. This is why there are so many 'grass roots' efforts to convert existing vehicles to run on Bio-diesel, Ethanol or Hydrogen.

    Hope this helps.

  3. tell them that:

even though i know it is impossible to grow enough to make bio fuels in quanities to satisfy  u.s. consmption, i want to try.

can you please add an E85 dispenser at your filling station?

the benefit to you is the fact  i will be getting LESS miles per gallon, i'll be buying much more fuel than if i used gasoline.

also since i am burning more fuel, i am producing more CO2 than just burning gasoline. but, i don't care because it's the trendy thing to do and it makes me feel good. this is more important than the end results.

    thank you
