Biogenetically engineered foods?

do you think they are here to stay? i mean the FDA doesnt even label them, and speaking that we know so little about the effects or the safety of eating it, do you think their here to stay?

  1. Not only are they here to stay, but in some crops they represent the greater part of the output (e.g., soybeans.)

    By means of genetic engineering, it is possible to

    increase yields

    reduce pesticide use

    reduce water demand

    reduce fertilizer demand

    add nutrients (e.g., golden rice)

    produce new products

    As usual, when something new comes along there are always Luddites who see horrible results on the basis of no real evidence at all. But the fact is that in spite of a host of scares, no real negative effects have ever been observed.

    The FDA doesn't require labeling of foods that are exactly the same as what is already on the market.
