2.Assume the prodution of hairs on a plants leaves is controlled by a single-gene with two allels H (dominant) and h (recessive). Hairy leaves are dominant to smooth (nonhairy) leaves.

a. Name the genotype(s) of a smooth-leaved plant

b. name the genotype(s) of hairy-leaved plant

c. What are the possible genotypes of gametes produced by the smooth-leaved plant?

d.What are the possible genotypes of gametes produced by the hairy-leaved plant?

3. Non true bleeding hairy leaved plants are crossed with smooth leaves plants.

a. What genotype and phenotype ratios would you expect for the potential offspring.?

4. What genotype ration would you expect gametophyte generation of C-ferns producded by F1 spores if to traits on separate chromosomes were being followed?

5. Where dominant and recessive traits observed equally in both gametophytes and sporophytes of c-ferns? How did you determine which character was dominant and which was recessive?

  1. Assuming that the species is diploid and that H is for hairy and that it produces haploid gametes.

    2a. Homozygous recessive (hh)

2b. Homozygous dominant (HH), OR Heterozygous dominant, (Hh or hH)

    2c. h only

2d. H only (if the parent is homozygous), OR H or h (if the parent is heterozygous)

    3. The cross is: Hh x hh resulting in Hh Hh hh and hh so...

    a. Genotypes: Hh & hh in a 1:1 ratio, Phenotypes: Hairy & smooth in a 1:1 ratio

4 & 5. Not enough information provided (C-ferns? are these what we are talking about in Q2 and Q3. "if to [sic] traits were being followed" which two traits? what are their precedence relationship and what genotype are the parents or if that's not given what is the pedigree)

And question 5 asks what YOU did, which will be in the lab script. Maybe you just carried out a standard cross and then scored phenotypes and based your conclusion on the phenotypic ratios or maybe you used molecular methods...
