Question:

Biology SAT II?

i always get confused when it gets to the evolution section.. especially with new domains and stuff..

the prep books keep teaching me about the kingdoms, such as monera, protista, etc..

but i remember learning in AP Bio that Monera no longer exists.. im so confused.. can someone clarify for me?

  1. ok, according to barrons 2008, monera no longer exist. Because that's the old domain.

    So, my best bet is that your version is slightly older. There may be slightly newer ones (from another company) that still uses "monera" (i know how princton uses "lock and key" while barrons said that the idea was thrown away and now uses "induce fit"). It varies, however, I would follow your AP class and say that monera does not exist. And rather, it's bacteria
