  1. Here's a 2 different point of views of those books

Barrons: Amazing book. Has lots of details and goes very deep. However, tests tend to be a lot harder than what they are really. If you use Barrons and study real hard for it, you will be guaranteed to feel a little bit depressed from low scores on practice tests but you will know all these little details about Biology. I personally liked Barrons just because it challenged me a lot and went over a lot of small details. Very difficult though. If you got a 680 on practice test, I'd say you'll get at least 700, but that doesn't guarantee you anything.

Kaplan: I'd say it's just exactly where the SAT II level is at around. Very nice book and lessons in it. Practice Tests are very nice models of the actual SAT II. If you get lets say 700 on Kaplan, you'll most likely be getting somewhere around that score on the real SAT.

Just because you got a certain scores on certain practice tests does not gurantee that you will get that score. Tests sort of change from time to time. I'd say personally from exprience though, Bio SAT II was a lot easier than the Barron's practice tests.

    Good luck on your test!
