Question

What is the importance of an arthropod’s exoskeleton. IHow is it able to grow tens of times larger than it was at birth, even though it has an exoskeleton? Also what are two benefits of an exoskeleton as well as how the arthropod grows without compromising this skeletal system.

The new exoskeleton is flexible when they shed the old skeleton and can expand.  I never heard of one expanding that much but I suppose they mean that it sheds several times.  It is great protection and allows efficient muscle attachment.  It does limit the total size.
