why would you use gelatin to represent cytoplasm?

  1. cytoplasm isn't empty space - its a liquidy substance possibly similar to gelatin. if you're making a model or something, gelatin's good to use because its clear so you can see the organelles and its solid enough to hold the organelles.


  2. Why not; cytoplasm isn't "solid"; it is gelatinous.  Organelles are floating or suspended by the cytoskeleton within it.
