What are the two phases of metabolism? What is the primary difference between these two phases?

Anabolism - requires energy, it's constructing molecules from smaller units

Catabolism - releases energy, breaks down molecules into smaller units

catabolism..the breaking down of nutrients by digestion.....

anabolism- the synthesizing of structures ( tissues, muscle, etc ) using precursors obtained during the digestion and absorption process.
