The sun is the primary source of energy in most ecosystems.

Describe the similarities and differiences between th procrsses of photosynthesis and respiration as they occure within an ecosystem. Include in the responce.

  1. In both photosynthesis and cellular respiration, the same chemicals are involved, that is glucose, water and carbon dioxide. Both processes are reverse to each other which is one thing that makes them different and with photosynthesis the reaction is anabolic whereas cellular respiration is catabolic. As for the reactants and products with cellular respiration the equation states what is the starting and products which is C6H12O6+6O2=6H2O+6CO2 and photosynthesis it is 12H2O+6CO2=C6H12O6+6H2O+6O2.  As with the flow, we give off  CO2 as a byproduct of cellular respiration which is what plants need for photosynthesis and plants give off O2 as a byproduct of photosynthesis which is what we need for cellular respiration so photosynthesis and cellular respiration are interrelated
