  1. number 2! - Pseudoscience is when something is claimed to be scientific or made to appear scientific, but does not actually have any scientific relevance or evidence. It's often driven by cultural or commercial goals as people wishing to make you follow a culture or buy their product will often try to make you think there is scientific evidence to say their product/culture is good, when in reality - it's just all claims. For example when tooth brush manufacturers go on about how their toothbrush is specially designed to fight 'plaque bugs' - this is pseudoscience because they are trying to make it sound science, when really it's just stuff they've made up!!
