  1. I know that protosomes are bilaterally symmetrical where the mouth developes first and the a**s second. (ex. flatworms, nematodes, mollusks, annelids, and arthropods)

While deuterostomes are also bilaterally symmetrical but the a**s developes first and the mouth second. (ex echinoderms and vertebrates)

I know that both differ in areas of cleavage patterns, determinate vs indeterminate developements, the fate of the blastopore as it developes, and how the coelom is formed.

With the cleavage pattern, protostomes are known for the spiral cleavage, which new cells goes off at an angle oblique to the polar axis. While the deuterostomes is known for radial cleavage, which the cells divide parrallel at right angles to the polar axis.

Protostomes exhibit determinate developement while deuterstomes exhibit indeterminate developement.

With the blastopore development, in protostomes the mouth of the animal developes from or near the blastopore. In the deuterstomes the blastopore always starts from the organisms a**s and the mouth developes from a second pore that will come from th blastopore later in development.

For the formation of coelom in protostomes, cells just move away from eachother as coelomic cavity gets bigger in the mesoderm. Deuterostomes, whole groups of cells usually move around to form new tissue associations.

    Hopefully this helps!

  2. In protostomes the blastopore becomes the future mouth.

In deutersotomes, the blastopore becomes the future a**s.
