Question:

Biology jobs in the DC Area?

I am a recent graduate with a BS in Biology. I have been searching for an entry level research position for months. I have been working with a recruiter and have independently applied for over 200 jobs with no success. I have research experience and graduated with a high GPA. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

  1. Lucky for you, the DC area (#6?) is probably in the top 10 metro areas for biotech jobs. Unfortunately, the economy sucks right now, and I blame Bush. Veto-ing stem cell research...

Sorry getting off track. Anyway, that being said, entry level research positions are generally left to people with graduate degrees. With only a BS, you should look more for lab assistant, etc.

You could always try moving, and looking around in Boston/San Diego (the two biggest bio-tech hubs) and see if you have more luck, or maybe you should apply to grad school if you really want to do research.
