Biology questions help please!?

1. In agricultural areas, farmers pay close attention to the weather forecast. Right before a predicted overnight freeze, farmers spray water on crops to protect the plants. Use the properties of water to explain how this works. Be sure to mention why hydrogen bonds are responsible for this phenomenon.

2. Carbon is a very important element in living systems. Describe some various characteristics and/or properties of the carbon atom that makes it the building block for the variety of biological molecules.

8. Produce a drawing which explains why water easily dissolves table salt (e.g. NaCl).

9. Indicate why oxygen and carbon dioxide are basic to life, and name the chief source of each of these molecules.

1. It's called supercooling (...I think, from what I remember...) and it's the opposite of sweating (cooling via transpiration).

8. Draw water molecules surrounding Na+ and Cl- ions.  Make sure you have the correct *polar* part of the water molecule pointing the right way.

9. Respiration and photosynthesis.  The air.
