Biology?!!??!! why is it so hard?

everybody says that biology is so hard! i'm going to be a 10th grader soon and when i talk to the people who used to be in 10th grade they say that the hardest subject is biology and a lot of people fail it! i need to know how can i prepare for biology and why is it so hard? any tips on passing the class?

Difficulty all depends on the teacher and the student.

A lot of the people I know who failed Bio didn't care to learn the material or study for tests/quizzes or get help from the teacher when they didn't understand something.

I like science so I found it easy.

it depends on the teacher and your learning style, really. i thought biology was hard when i took it (in 9th grade). this is largely due to the fact that my teacher did not teach very well, and whenever we had a district test or whatnot, we didn't do so well. (that teacher was a great guy, just not the best teacher). anyways, so if you have a great teacher, you should learn a lot and the subject should not really be that hard. also, some people (like me) did not like biology because it requires some memorization. if you are good at memorize things, biology should be very easy for you.

It depends on the teacher and the student.  I took honors biology 9th grade and AP biology 10th grade.  I am very studious and a hard-worker but I know a lot of friends who were quite the opposite and thus failed.  It is also a lot of material that must be learned.  Biology is probably the biggest science field and so it is a lot to be learned by the student.  The teacher also has to be great at explaining material and getting through all of the material so that the students will be able to understand it because not all students understand the material straight out of the book.  None of my biology teachers were good, but I was one of the only students who would take the initiative and read the book and I was able to understand it.  If I had any trouble I would always ask the teacher.  My method resulted me in getting A's in both classes and a 5 on the AP biology test.
