My mom has this idea that i have bipolar disorder just because i have sleeping problems. but i think that its been because i have staying up until 3 in the morning and and sleeping until 1ish for the past few weeks (because its summer and i am out of school). But lately I have been trying to go to sleep but i can't. Any thoughts or ideas about if this could be bipolar disorder and my mom just is trying to find something wrong? or just sleeping problems?

  1. i doubt you have a bipolar problem... maybe you are anxious because you think something is wrong with you. why dont you try staying awake till the next night and have a real good nights sleep. Also your body isnt used to not going school and waking up early... so its out of sync... get back into snc and you will be fine.

  2. Look! Bipolar disorder is actually more than that! look for a doctor to make sure of what is happening ok! very very good afternoon

  3. No one here can diagnose you, so this is FWIW.  Have you had any depression?  That almost always is experienced before any type of manicky period.

As for sleep, the issue is needing little.  It's not about insomnia nor sleeping different hours because it's summer.  Still, if you are concerned, see your doctor for a check up and blood tests to rule out any medical problems like thyroid issues.  Tell your doc what's up.  If s/he is concerned, you'll probably be referred to a psychiatrist for an evaluation.  If s/he is not, you'll quiet your mom's fears which will make your life easier.  Off hand, what you wrote doesn't sound at all bipolar.

  4. THAT IS NOT BIPOLAR.............

  5. sleeping problems
