Bird Problem?

Im going away to college in sept and will be coming home on weekends. Im very worried about my bird because she is very attach to me and i spoil her alot by petting her, taking her out of her cage, giving her treats and she only allows me to pet her and always calling my name.

i just know that stress is a major reason why birds die and my brother bird died when my brother passed away and i guess the bird was sad that he didnt know where my brother was.

I dont want my bird to die but i dont know how to keep my bird happy although i told my parents to take it out of the case alo.

so how do i keep her happy without being there

  1. There is really nothing you can do without you being there.  You'll just have to keep it happy on weekends when you come home.  Hope I helped!

  2. try putting a picture of yourself by the birds cage.

also get it a "bird buddy".

im not sure if they sell these any longer... but its a plastic bird, that most birds think is real.

  3. You didn't say what kind of bird, but if it calls you by name, it's probably a big bird.  In that case, your family will need to play a larger role in his life, or he will be very unhappy.

As long as he gets attention, he'll be okay.  Make sure your family gives him some quality time, or he will be miserable.

  4. Introduce her to other members of your family so she becomes closer to them.

  5. You might try getting another bird, but even that might not do it. My brother had one that thought they were mates and was jealous of his wife and definitely showed it. Another bird was just considered an intruder.
