Bird feet and adaptation???

does anyone know the foot type of the following birds and how they are adapted: heron, hummingbird and hawk?

  2. I'm sure there are definitions of the foot type but i don't know that. I do know that herons are wading birds and their feet are adapted to walking in silt, sand and mud. They're flatter, and designed for long periods of standing on flat ground. Hummingbirds use their feet only for perching on branches. Hawks have talons that are designed to cut into their prey and enable them to carry the prey away.  Their feet are strong and their feet have extremely fast reflexes. We used to do a demonstration at the zoo where we would throw a piece of meat towards a hawk and it would reach up and catch it in it's talons - demonstrating the lightening speed of their grab. They've also got huge strength in their talons which is why you see people handling them with large, double layer leather gloves.
