Birds compatable with cockatiels?

I am looking for other breeds of hookbills to put in a small aviary with my cockatiel. He loves other birds and I would like to add some color and variety to my future aviary.

It will probably just depend on your birds and the new ones you would get.  We had a cockatiel who was great pals with 2 of our parakeets, but the other two keets just harassed the tiel!  Cockatiels tend to be quite laid back birds so as long as your cage/aviary is big enough for the tiel to "get away" from the rest he should be fine with just about any bird his size as long as they're introduced to each other properly.  Good luck!

Hello- Cockatiels really get along with Budgies, there also very pretty and range in colour, have a hook beak and are easily tamed.

they usually share food and get along as specially well if theres room to fly because they play!

Cockatiels will get along best with a bird of similar size.  But it is like people, they are all indiviuals, some people like some people and others don't

Well of course it depends on the birds, generally the match well with budgies though it is usually recommended to keep most hookbills in species cages. Why not try different colourations of cockateil, there are SO many! Try English Budgies and even Quakers for size compatiblity, sometimes they get along with Cockatiels as well.

If you really want to mix up your birds for colour and variation try a large finch aviary.

budgies LOVE cockatiels. mine adore each other and do everything together. its cute. they would be the safest birds to put with your tiels. in the world parrot refuge, the budgies and cockatiels are kept together.

It is never recommended to mix different hookbills together, especially with a laid back cockatiel.  Many people say that budgies work well with them, but that is not the norm.  Budgies are well known for pulling tail feathers and harassing cockatiels.

Make sure that you quarantine any bird you get for 30-60 days and slowly introduce them to avoid fights.  

If you really want another bird in with your tiel, I suggest another tiel.
