  1. put something that scares them

  2. Tie a aluminum pie pan to a string and let it hang down a little to blow. The shimmer, the noise and the movement will scare birds away.

  3. You can buy Gramma's Bitter Spray from your local pet store and it has no taste to us but animals HATE it. I use it for my rabbits & my birds.

  4. Tin foil sometimes helps.

  5. get the shiny almost foils like ribbons and put them on sticks and place them all over your garden sticking up, this will scare the birds away. Or you can try getting some simple chicken wire, even the big kind that the birds cannot get through and make a simple cage that goes over it, this will allow all the fresh air and sunlight to still get to them but keeps the birds out.

My father had to do this to his entire garden. He had a fairly large garden and he just made it in section and hooked them together so he could remove only part of it at a time to work where he needed and not have the other parts exposed. It worked out wonderfully.
