Arsenal started their new year with a brilliant away win over Birmingham City at St Andrews. Arsenal came to third position on the Barclay’s Premier League table after winning this match and keeping the pressure on the two top
Manchester teams.
Birmingham City had a perfect physical game plan to start a new year with a home victory but Robin Van Persie’s controversial goal on a free kick at 12th minute of the play finished the first half with 1-0 lead.
Arsenal had most of the possession throughout the match especially in second half, with Nasri and Fabrigas fibulas play. Samir Nasri’s 13th goal of the season gave Arsenal the two goal lead in the 58th minute with Fabregas heavily

Arsenal gave a perfect start to their manager and celebration to their fans at a new year with an amazing team work play.
The home defeat left Birmingham in the relegation zone and a great disappointment for the home crowd and for the manager Alex Mcleish.
