Birmingham City News: Scott Dann praises Lee Bowyer; Alex McLeish looking for reinforcements
Birmingham City’s central defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Scott-Dann-c32662 has praised teammate Lee Bowyer after his equalizer saved their game against Manchester United.

It looked like the men from Manchester would be walking away with all 3 points, until http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lee-Bowyer-c21864 equalized for the home side in the 89th minute. The goal against United was the Englishman’s 2nd of the season.
Interestingly enough, Bowyer seems to find his scoring touch whenever he plays against the big sides. His 1st strike of the season also came during the home win against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 FC on 20th November.
Dann pointed out that Tuesday night's goal was a perfect example of the resilient nature that Lee had.
He said, “That sort of goal he scored against Manchester United is typical Lee Bowyer for you. He did it last season as well, scored some important goals, and was one of our top goal scorers. He earned us a lot of important points last season. That is what
you get from him. He makes those good runs into the danger area and he has got a good goal tally."
The Scott was hopeful that the 33-year-old veteran will continue to play the game for at least a couple of years more. Dann was also impressed by the level of fitness Bowyer had maintained, despite his growing age.
Meanwhile, the Blues manager Alex McLeish has revealed that he intends to buy a couple of players to reinforce his squad, in the upcoming January transfer window.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 FC boss was of the opinion that his team needed to add depth to their reserves if they wanted to challenge for a position in the top-half of the Premier League table.
He said, “I can't give you names or comment on individuals but we certainly have players on the radar. We have targets that we want to bring in to enhance our chances of climbing up the table. We are talking about maybe a couple of players, probably two
at the most.”
The draw against Manchester United took Birmingham to 17th place in the English Premier League table. Their next fixture is on 1st January against Arsenal FC at the Emirates Stadium.
