Birmingham City bosses to decide on Alex McLeish’s future at the club: EPL News

Birmingham were on the verge of finishing the season on a high after winning the Carling Cup and qualifying for next year’s UEFA Europa League until the relegation marred their season. McLeish has had successful three years at St.Andrews since joining the
club in 2007 and finished last season on 9th spot, which is the best top-flight finish in the history of the Blues.
However, relegation has casted a dark cloud over the manager’s future, who wants to honour his contract with the club and is adamant that the club can return to the top flight soon.
McLeish said: "I've got a good contract with the club. It's tough on us to be relegated but we don't lie down and bury our heads in the sand.
"We've got to get on with the next challenge. We've got to show leadership. Will I still be here next year? I've got a contract that says that. Until I'm told differently, that will be the case."
Firing the manager would mean that the club has to pay up to two million pounds as a termination fee to the manager. The club cannot afford such loses after their revenues will be reduced next season.
