http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sebastian-Larsson-c32733’s current contract with Birmingham will expire in the summer and he will leave on a free transfer. The Sweden international almost joined Newcastle United in the January transfer window but personal terms could
not be agreed.
Ridgewell praised the midfielder for his determination and insisted that great players like Larsson should stay at the club. According to him, Larsson is a prized asset for the Blues and his future should be secured.
“I hope he stays, of course. He is a great player. Hopefully we can keep hold of these great players if we want to try to build on this team and this great club. We've won the Carling Cup and hopefully we'll stay in the league.
If we want to build on this club, we've got to keep good players like that,” the defender said while speaking to reporters.
The former Aston Villa defender admired the Swedish player’s free-kick ability and his presence in midfield. He stated that Larsson’s goal was crucial in the 2-0 win over Sunderland over the weekend in the club’s chances of survival.

but he has been fantastic.”
Sebastian Larsson has scored 17 goals in a total of 178 Premier League appearances for the Birmingham club. The midfielder also has 29 international caps to his name.
