So Im moving out on my 18th birthday.

I doubt that my dad will give me my birth certificate and Social Security card...so where do I need to go to get it? I have my Drivers License if that would help with any of the registration for a new one. How much would it cost to get a new one?

  1. if you're in Ny you would have to go to the department of mental hygiene in NYC to obtain your birth certificate.  As for S.S.C. you can go to jamaica ave and across the street from the cineplex on Parsons you will see a huge building. Go in there wait in line spend like 5 bucks and you will get it. All you need is your driver''s license and if anything else make sure you ask the security guard to double check before you get in line and wait for 30 min to 2 hrs.

  2. You can get a duplicate SS card from the SS administration. You can get a certified duplicate certificate of birth from the state in which you were born. Google both of them and you should find what you are looking for.

  3. Happy Birthday!  Go to your goverment building in town, find Social Security Administration office, there you will find how to request a new social security card.  It should be free but a small fee might be applied about $5-10.

As for your birth certificate, go to your town hall (hopefully you were born in the same town) vital statistics is the office's name there you will fill out a card and pay a fee as well.  They will give you a copy of your birth certificate with the town stamp.

Talk to your parents though, they can come around and see that you need your papers.
