Birth Certificate help?

I live in Federal Way Washington, and i recently went to try to get a Passport, But they told me i needed to get a new birth certificate because the one i had was to old...They told me that i would need to get the new birth certificate from my place of birth, which is Orange County in california.

So i guess my question would be, How can i get my birth certificate without actually haveing to go down to california, and/if it could be possible to get it mailed somewhere near my home in the next month?

Help on this would realy be appreciated...

Thanks Again for those who help

  1. Both justagrandma and Lena have given you links that will work.  My advice is to use the Orange County site rather than the State of California site.  From the reports I hear, the County records departments are much faster than the State in providing these records.

  2. I was living in Alabama and was born in Illinois I need my birth certificate and called the Illinois department of health, and they transferred me to whoever it was, and I had my birth certificate mailed to me.  I think I paid 20.00, but I had it the next day. I could have gotten it cheaper if I would have had it mailed regular but I needed it fast! The only info I needed to get it was both parents name, my name, dob, and my social securtiy number, as well as my mothers maiden name. Hope this helps

  5. You can usually order your birth certificate online now.

You contact the Hall of Records, or Health Department or Bureau of Vital Statistics, depends what they call it there and they will give you the contact info.
