Birth Control Question!?

Question

I really want to get on birth control..

To clear up my face, regulate period, make b***s grow (haha), etc.

Howeverrr.. My mom won't let me; she thinks its unnecessary..

Can you get birth control without a parents permission or like over the counter? or do you have to go to the doctor and get a prescription? I'm 17 years old.

yes, and here in the u.s. you are in control of your reproduction choices! so your mom cant actually make the dr not give you a prescription!! but why would your mother say no for you not just going out, having s*x, and ending up pregnant. kudos for making a good decision.

call the dr and ask them if you still wonder.

If you go to a clinic like Planned Parenthood, and schedule an appointment (they're usually free), you can get a prescription without parental consent. I went on it for the same reasons, and it helped a lot! Good luck.

I just got put on the pill, but i didn't want to ask my mom. I went to my school nurse about it and she said you can go to a free clinic and get it. I just ended up asking my mom and she wasn't too happy but my dr. recommended it. But it can actually make your acne worse, mine did.  It has a bunch of side effects too. Unless your periods are really irregular or your sexually active i don't recommend going on it. There are other ways to get rid of acne, and from what i've been told that boob thing is a myth.

Sorry. Birth Control is not an over-the-counter med. I think that the age of consent depends on your state so you could probably look that up or ask your doctor. My mom actually is the one that put me on it because I have cramps so horrible that I missed classes and would literally wake up crying.
