Birth Control side effects or pregnancy symptoms?

Ok. My last period started on August 11. My boyfriend and I had unprotected s*x on the 15th, 16th, and 17th. On the 17th I started birth control for the first time. We had s*x again on the 21st and 22nd. It is now the 29th (have been on b.c. for almost 3 weeks) and I am having some strange symptoms. On the 25th I began spotting and I am still spotting. My b*****s are also becoming larger, tender and the veins are more visible. I am extremely bloated. About 2 days ago I began to experience nausea. It is not all the time, but comes and goes. I tend to get especially bad after I eat. I have been having food aversions to things I usually enjoy, as well as cravings for foods I don't usually like. I have also become hyper-aware of smells. I have been extremely moody as well. Other more subtle symptoms are present. For example, I don't want to play the radio as loud as I usually do and I don't want to ride horses (which I have done for years and very much enjoy) and I am extra cautious around them. Lastly, for the past three weeks I have not been wanting to drink alcohol, which I usually enjoy. I know that many of these symptoms are related to the birth control, but some of them do not seem to be logical side effects. I also just have a feeling that I am pregnant. What do you think? Am I having side effects from the b/c and being paranoid or could I be pregnant.

  1. it sure sounds like you're pregnant! I had my second child while I was on birth control!

  2. I'm leaning toward pregnant, but birth control side effects are often the same.

  3. Preggers.

    Sorry.

That's all the symptoms of being pregnant.

Buy a test, or go to the doctor to get tested to make sure, but it sounds like you might be having a baby in the near future.

  4. a lot of it could just be in your head.  you're stressing yourself out.  so calm down.  and as for the pills...well when i started mine they told me that they wouldn't really start working until 2 weeks later and apparently you and your boyfriend had quite a bit of unprotected s*x before that.  i would take a pregnancy test asap.  just keep on taking your pill like you're supposed to and if you do find out your pregnant then stop.  if you aren't and these symptoms keep on bothering you then maybe you should try switching to another pill.
