Birth Mom search?

How can I search for my birthmom?

Are there any websites or will that not do?

Will I have to contact my adoption agency?

How does the whole "searching process" work?

Has anyone every searched for their birth mom particually from another country?

I'm searching in Russia.

Please help.

Is there also a way to find my dad? Or does that have to be another search? Is it harder to find the dad?

Please help! thx :]

  1. come on over to www.adultadoptees.org it's a website for us adoptees, we've all been down that road before.

Your first step should be going to the agency that arranged for your adoption & asking or your non identifying info. That will give you a good direction to start in.

The search can take just a few months, as in my case or in some years. It's just not something that you can predict.

  2. First - add your details to the registries here

    http://www.isrr.net/

    http://registry.adoption.com/

Check with the adoption agency - they may be able to help.

Check here for search help - and links to search angels -

    http://www.adoptioncrossroads.org/

And check here for any support - it's the best online forum for adoptees I've found -

    http://www.adultadoptees.org/

All the very best with your search.
