im 18 and i recently thought i was pregnant because of a very weird period. but now im ovulating again. the weird period lasted for a few minutes. i bled for that time and before that i got brown spotting this was around august 6th-10th. but now that ime getting som clear discharge (the kind u get during ovulation). i realized im not. my last period was July 12th.

i dont want to be irresponable again and have unprotected s*x so i need help with this.

i have a planned parenthood near me and i do not want to tell my mother as i can't talk to her about these things. she's impossible. i get 20 lectures a day about how i shud NOT have s*x at all before marriage. unfortunately i do not have her support for wanting to protect myself.

what shoud i bring with me?

how long shud i plan to be there getting and exam, filling out papers, and waiting for the pills?

how much shud i bring with me? i heard you can get them for free if u dont have any income. i dont.

i have ID and my social security card.

thank you for your answers. i wish i could get the help i need from my mother. but another reason for not telling her is that i dont want her to know i let her down in not waiting till marriage. it's a big deal for her.

  1. I agree with your mom, you should wait. It's never too late to stop.

  2. i knowh ow you feel, but planned parenthood is very confidential...you will fill papers out about your medical history, sexual history, if you had pap smears, etc etc...they do have free BC...but i dont know what you need to do to get that...but they are nice there..you might have to wait long..it does get packed in there...so get an appointment or go early in the morning

  3. I am glad to see you are wanting to be safe. You should plan on about an hour total unless you are doing a walk in, then it just depends. Here there are only 2 out of 6 locations that have low cost to free services. Your best bet would be to call them ahead of time to find out what all they require for info and fees. The pills they keep in stock so you will get them right then at check out. Good luck.

  4. if you're 18 you dont need your mother to know about it. You can handle all the stuff by yourself.

you will have to call about the paperwork part to see what they need but you can call and make an appointment at the same time. The exams aren't free but the birth control may be.

Try looking up the "take Charge" program i got it in january in Louisiana and EVRYTHING is free if you apply.

If you need or want your moms help tell her you are tired of having spuratic and irregulor periods or that you hate the cramps. im 20 and

thats what i did and it worked on my mom.

  5. It varies from state to state and from PP to PP how much or how they will go about it. Most PP charge $22 a month for the pill. At the PP I go to its $60 for a 3 month supply. Since you are 18 you may not qualify for free services but possibly a discount.

You need to take with you your ID at least $22 with you, any previous gyn information

You are looking at tops 1 hr there
