For the past week, I have been taking birth control and I have experienced the follow effects: bloating, cravings, and today I wanted to throw up. The past 5 days I have taken it, I didn't feel any type of nausea but for some reason I took it today at 2oclock and I was working nonstop. Stupid me however for a snack I ate hot cheetos and a V5 drink. I feel disgusting, and I wanted to throw up BADLY. Is that normal? I feel like I'm pregnant.

  1. The hormones in birth control pills can really mess with some women.

Luckily, not all pills are the same, they have different concentrations of various hormones. If this one is being horrid, go back to your doctor and ask to change to a different one.

  2. Nausea - the feeling of wanting to throw up but don't-- is a common side effect.  It is consider a normal extension of the drugs pharmacological properties.

It can take your body up to 3-6 months to get use to birth control pills.

Try taking the pill at night to prevent the nausea.

Be sure to take the pill about the same time daily. This will help.

If you actually start throwing up... call doctor,

If it does not go away during the 7 days of "sugar pills" , call your doctor.

If this persits past 3-4 cycles... call your doctor.
