I recently was put on birth control and have just finished my first 7day break. I had a heavy withdrawal bleed, basically the same as my normal periods. Today was my first day back on the pill and ive been feeling sick all day, kind of like period pains, what can this mean? and have any of you had this problem the first couple of months? x*x

  1. I didnt have any problems when i first went on the pill, but if u look in ur pill box there will be an information leaflet and it will tell u some side effects of the pill.

the most common ones are weight gain or weight loss, headaches and nausea.

give it a read and if u are experiencing a few of these effects then u need to go back to the doctor and they will put u on a different pill.

  2. Yes being on the pill for the first time can make you feel really sick, nausea. Its one of the main side effects of the pill but i think it should get better as you take it for longer, i dont think your pregnant because youve had a period but if thats worrying you then you can always get a test just to put your mind at rest because i know how worried people can get! Give it a while and if the sickness doesnt stop go to your doctor and she might prescribe you a different pill. Its also good to remember that it might be something completely different thats causing this sickness and it may not be because of your pill, give it time. xxxx

  3. Several things happen when you get on birth control.  A lot of people feel sick when they start using them.  If it continues then I would suggest to switch birth controls.  Maybe go on one that has a lower dose like Loestrin 24. It will just take you some time to figure out which brand your body can handle.
