  1. What ? Dame haha i am not surprized, trust me i heard many things more.

  2. huh? what city are you in?

they are available here.. but yes by prescription only.. There are some medications the pharmacists just cant sell without.. The government is cracking down..

and why would you just go to a pharmacist and get any old pill? you need a doctor to examine you and determine the best type for your needs. they vary dramatically between strengths and brands.. And yes we have them cause I used them and my sisters in law use them also... But we've all had doctor prescriptions for them...

I am now using the IUD.. so no more pill for me.. Yes we have all means of birth control. jells, spermasides, condoms, pills, diaphrams, patches, IUD, sponge.. but you have to have a doctor help you...

  3. i buy them for my wife right from pharmacy

  4. they are avaialble, dunno how, but i'm sure there. i know someone who was taking them.

  5. ....I think birth control pills is considered as dangerous drug thats why they're not available in the market here. Even isoprophyll alcohol to clean wounds is not available to all pharmacies as any type of alcohol is not allowed in this country.....lolz.....

  6. Even though medicines are available through the pharmacy, it's still a good idea to go to the doctor and get a prescription.  Birth control pills have serious side effects.  It's important that you understand the possible side effects before taking them.  Also, the doctor can recommend different types of BC pills.  Some have more hormones than others.  Some may make you sick, while others are ok.  I've had to change BC pills in the past due to side effects (mostly nausea (like having morning sickness and not pregnant)), so it's good to get the doctor's opinion if one particular brand isn't good for you.

  7. Weird, maybe you need a prescription from a gyno or something.

If push comes to shove, in your next trip or vacation get it from wherever your heading to.

  8. use a calendar and have your husband take some responsibilty

  9. in saudi arabia we have all means of birth control and contraceptives from  jells, condoms, pills, diaphrams, IUD, to patches....i personally used a combination pill for the first 4 years of my marriage...didn't get a perscribtion though and i now know better and would advise you to get a doctor to discuss all your options...there are some conditions that you may have that will decrease the effectiveness of one method or even be dangerous and you wouldn't think of it or even relate them...but the truth is, they do (migrane headaches for example).

lately, the ministry of health is tightning up on the whole sector...so you might find that certain medications are no longer dispensed without a doctors perscribtion (as it used to be), some brands are now pulled off the shelves, others are being replaced with newer and updated formulas, even the introduction of drugs to the saudi market is becoming faster than it usually was (they used to delay the entry for years just to make sure it's safe or to wait and see its sideeffects...etc)....

so you might look for a certain brand and not find it, but you'll find something else similar if not exactly the same but with a different name or from a different company or origin....(personally, i wouldn't ask the guy at the pharmacy...they're not as reliable as they should be...) so i strongly suggest and encourage you to check with a doctor first.
