recently, i just got put on birth control. i've been taking the pills for about a week, now. according to an ovulation calendar on parents.com, i should be able to get pregnant within this week. if i stop taking my birth control, should i still be able to get pregnant this month? i'm not even done with my first week of pills yet, and the clinic that i got them from said that it would take about a week to kick in and make me protected. please help.

  1. i'm a bit confused - are you wanting to get pregnant or just wanting to have unprotected s*x?

yes, you can still get pregnant - more so if you've not been taking them at the EXACT same time every day.  with today's low-dose pills, varying by as little as an hour can result in pregnancy.

ovulation calenders are all well and good but they're useless.  just like not every woman has a 28-day period (hello!), not every woman ovulates between days x and y.
