Birth control question??

I have been on the 28 day cycle ortho tri-cylin lo for about 5 months now, never a problem. I took my last hormone pill yesterday morning, and expected to start today but still have not.

Earlier in the week I took a pill up to 4 hours late, so I was cautious the rest of the week and did not have any unprotected s*x. What I'm wondering is if taking a pill late almost 4 days ago could effect my menstrual cycle now?

Thank you!

  1. Some people's bodies are more sensitive to hormones than others, so for some, taking a pill late can cause breakthrough bleeding or a slightly different period. If you still haven't gotten a period by the time your placebo week is over, then call your doctor.

  2. Taking your pills four hours late four days ago might have an affect on your body depending on your chemistry. However, if you are taking your pills irregularly daily you might have  a problem with knowing when your period is going to start/end. Also, if you're young, keep in mind that your body is changing and that sometimes your period might start earlier or later every once in a while. Still, try to keep on a regular schedule when taking your pills.
