  1. A subscription to a gardening magazine, A standard rose, potted tulips,a flowering shrub, matching ceramic pots, gardening tools, gloves or one of those little pull-a-long carts for collecting the weeds & pruning off-cuts, garden statues, benches or a water feature, solar lights, a garden arch & a climbing plant to grow against it.

  2. four pages of gardening gifts for women... http://www.gifts.com/recipients/her/gard...

  3. I don't have anything in particular, but go on Google and look up "gardening gifts for mom" or something. They should give you pretty good ideas.

Maybe you could give her bird feeders or something. Maybe a fountain??? lol...I have no idea.

  4. She's simple?  Doubtful... LOL

I think perhaps a kneeler that has handles to help you down/up and flips over to be a small seat would be helpful.  Of you can get some nice decorative hose stops (if she does not have an in-ground irrigation system).  Or a piece of unique architectural salvage from an antique store - she can place that in the garden as a curiosity that is not as kitchy as a critter or gnome.  Or find her a critter or gnome, but look for a nice one - concrete or iron ones can be pretty cool. You can also find one that is sort of a reminder or memorial for a beloved pet - find a cat or dog item.

  5. Gardening gloves, stepping stones (You could make one and she would love it!), pretty pots, a trip to a local botanical garden with you.  New tools are always appreciated, like a nice hand shovel or clippers.
