is it appropriate to send a thank you card for birthday gifts you receive?

  1. yes. but don't forget the ones who didn't give gifts - thank them for coming too. it would be quite awkward if one person gets a thank you but another gets nothing after attending the same party...

  5. Yes, but it sounds like a lot of work. The gift would have to be really good, or the person really special to make it worth the effort.

  6. If you received the gift(s) at a party and said thank you to the giver already, then no card is necessary.  If you opened the gift away from the giver, then yes.  

    Exceptions...always send a note to a grandma, aunt/uncle, etc. no matter if you thanked them in person or not...make it personal too...not just a generic thank you.
