Does anyone have any good ideas for a 16th birthday party? I have a medical condition which limits my physical activity (my sports are limited to swimming only right now). I'd like to keep things affordable. Any ideas? Thanks!

  1. When I turned 16 I had a "LIMO PARTY".  My parents rented me a limo for the evening.  A bunch of my closest friends and I all got to ride around in it where ever we wanted to go.  The limo picked up each guest at their house, which makes you feel very special.  It took us to dinner, the mall and just all around town looking at all kinds of things.  It was really fun and a lot of other people we know have done the same thing since I did it and they all had fun too.  You can dress up and/or get your hair done, etc.

  2. well theres a lot of things you can do such as

-a hotel party; you can play twister; order room service[ only if you parents say so] umm... go down to the pool like everyone 2 hours haha. and lots more. find out about a hotel in your area.

-pool party; this is great if you have a pool in your backyard you can go to the dollar store and buy those cheap pool noveltys; if you have a huge pool you can get like 30 friends and have pizza; and maybe you could have just like a classic pool party.

-sleepover; this is great if you have friends who sleep over your house all the time lol. you can just games... eat loads of pizza... make pizza or you can just buy it. truth or dare if there are guys there. go to walmart and look around. make sure you buy loads of candy and soda.

-bowling; have your parents do reservations for a bowling all for you.  bowling is very affordable and fun. have a prize for who ever wins each game.

-movie marathon; make sure you have LOADS of popcorn for this or you can buy that white popcorn from big lots and buy toppings so your guest can make ther own kind of popcorn. rent movies from places like blockbuster or something.

-park bbq; you can invite your friends to your local park and have a bbq. its cheap as long as your dont have like 50 friends. lol. bring a camera for lots of pics to take for memories

    i hoped this helped. :]]]]

  3. Rent a place with a pool and have a luau theme party, check this website http://www.pinatas.com/Theme_Party_Suppl... for more funny party ideas.

  4. People still have birthday parties at 16 years old? My last birthday part was when i turned 13 after that i never wanted them

  5. What does she like? A bunch of friends in the house dancing to loud music/hire jukebox? Karaoke? Outdoors?

Crowding around and chatting in your backyard at night with lawn lamps? A sleepover?

Affordable generally means make it an outdoor picnic-sorta thing or keep it in the house.

It's hard to tell unless you give an idea of the sort of thing she'd like.

If a house party isn't quite cutting it in the 'cool' field, try and make it late-ish, play good music and serve 'mocktails' (juice and softdrink blends).

She might prefer an outdoor adventure thing. Is there a nearby park or pool area?

    Good luck

EDIT - Rese, what are you obsessed with black and white???

  6. For me at that age (17 now) I just wanted to have fun and chat all night. So we didn't really have anything planned, we were just gonna go with the flow, see what would happen. We put mattresses in the living room, hired some movies and we'd see what we'd do. The only thing that I really had planned was the food. I always like doing something special in that area, like, for example: to gourmet (I'm not sure if that's the word in English (I'm Dutch)), which is where there's a big heating plate on the table and everyone's got it's own little pan to cook. Chocolate Fondue is also real fun to do together, a big pan full with chocolate fondue (http://www.lhj.com/home/Chocolate-Fondue... and then all kinds of fruits, cookies and cake to dip in it. Or to bake pancakes together or for everyone to create it's own pizza. Or to create your own desert with buckets of icecream, fruits, sauces, whipped cream etcetera etcetera. Although this may be a bit more cheezy and young then mature. (I still like it tho)

Also what always will be fun: bowling, miniature golf, swimming, giving each other beauty masks and makeovers and all the other cheesy, cliche girly stuff.

If you're not having a sleepover, just a fancy dinner party is so much fun as well, especially when you all prepare it together! With the whole invitation thing and fancy dress code, even tho you might not be that fancy at all!

PS: at my party: we ended up watching all the movies rented, making a walk through the forest at 2AM, having huge english breakfast and having chocolate fondue and pizza for dinner.

  7. Here are some of my suggestions:

    - tea party - this is perfect for a simple get-together that will allow you to chat and spend time together without the hassle of having too much to prepare.

    - sleepover party or slumber party - the beauty of having a sleep over party is that you and your teenager’s guests can relax. There’s no need for fancy outfits and there are no curfews. The guests can also do a lot of fun things, as long as they don’t disturb the other people inside the house.
