so my friends daughter has decided instead of bowling she wants chuckie cheese...sounds fun.

lately i have been wanting to take my son there but havent had the ready cash.

i figure after the whole thing it could end up costing close to 50 bucks gas included and maybe more cuz of gift (i havent any problem with the gift part, i enjoy that) but, this week i dont have the ready cash.

when we went bowling with her family for her sons birtday we were in .sb. we paid shoes...gas... gift...food....that was affordable, well kinda.

i just dont think we can do this at this time....the family doesnt pay for it all, im just going on experience.

i feel bad, cuz it would be fun. i think we will have to pass and just meet up with her another day with a gift.

its kinda different cuz im used to not paying at a bday party. but everyone is different.

whats your take on this ?

  1. It's cheaper than you would think.  We got a coupon online for a large pizza, 4 drinks, and like 80 tokens for $30.  We have 3 kids, and by the time the tokens were gone we were ready to go.  Each game takes 1 token.

Also, some people just can't afford to spend $10 (or however much) per kid to have their party there.  That shouldn't mean the child should "just stay home"on their birthday like a pp suggested.  My littlest one just turned 3, and we invited our best friend, his wife and their daughter to go with us for lunch.  They didn't mind a paying for their own food and tokens.  But I also didn't call it a "party" - I invited them to join us there for lunch.

  2. So,  let me understand this correctly-your friend is having her daughters birthday at chuck e cheese and is inviting people, but is not paying?

    WTF?

This is beyond rude of the friend.  If they don't have the cash to spend on a birthday party they should not expect guests to pay.  I would be offended.

If they can't cover the party then they should just stay home.

I would tell the friend flat out that you don't have it in the budget right now and would love to spend time with them at home, but you can't afford the $50 to take your kid to chuck e cheese.

Man, good luck with this one.

  3. Do you get the Sunday Newspaper

They should have Chuck Cheese Coupons in the

The coupons will have a pizza, four soda and tokens

It's the cheapest way to do Chuck Cheese

You may could spilt with another parents the pizza and tokens

  4. Why not just drop off your child with the family - with the gift and leave. Come back later to chat. this way your son gets to play with their kid, and they have the birthday party - usually at CC's the birthday party has coins for all the guests and pizza for the guests - so you wouldn't have to buy more - unless they are just "going" there for his birthday and not a planned party there....... just a thought ♥

  5. I think if the parents want to have the party there they should fork over the money and not make the other kids parents pay. The only thing you should be responsible for is getting to the party (i.e. gas) and a gift. They might want to put a limit on how many tokens each child can purchase for the games though.

I would be a little offended if I got invited to a b-day party and I had to pay for everything.
