Birthday present for 49 year old woman?

It's my mother's birthday in a few days. I need help finding a gift for her... She's diabetic, so no food items... Here are her likes:

quilting

walking with her friends

reading (especially stephen white)

working in the yard

my budget is around $150

she always asks for cheap jewelry because she knows my sisters and I are usually broke but I want to get her something decent!

What about a wii fit?  If she likes to walk, she might enjoy it.  It is fun and it is something you and your sisters could do with her.

How about a really nice mug she can use every day and think of you, and inside a note with a spa date or a massage?  I am 45 and a mom and that would be nice.  I always like flowers too?  Think of something she really like or always wanted.  Or maybe a dinner out with you both?  

I like inexpensive thoughtful gifts what has she always wistfully wished she had?  If she likes quilting and working the yard a gift certificate from a gardening or hardware store?  or quilting shop?  A book shop gift certifate with a nice scarf?
