Birthday present for a 5 year old girl?

I'm going to the birthday of a friend's little girl who's turning 5. I don't know much about her except that she's learning to read, likes sparkles, Raggedy Ann, and has a bunny. Her mom is a conservative home-schooler and so videos are out, but maybe something crafty or a game? Any suggestions?

like one of those paint by numbers, or paint your own piggy bank, that kind of thing maybe?

How about a little craft kit? They have age appropriate kits at Target.
