I am invited to a 50th Birthday party for a co-worker and her twin brother who I have only met once and lives out of town. Is it okay to bring a gift only for my co-worker? And on the invitation it reads: "Dress: Casual White". What does that mean?

  1. it's only polite to at least give the guest of honor a tokin gift at a birthday party.

the dress casual white is just that, casual attire in white coloring, i have heard of this at an ethnic event only, is your co-worker african american?

  2. Yes, it is ok to only take a gift only to your friend considering you do not know the brother.  As for the casual white; it sounds as if she has picked a themed party and white is a part of that theme.  Dress in white and you should be fine. Sometime when people have all white party’s those that show up in other colors are not granted access. But unless her invite gets that detailed, you should be fine.
