Birthday present ideas for an 8 year old?

My daughter is 8 next week and we have no idea what to buy her as a present. Normally she would have asked for something but not this year. We have a Nintendo WII and she has a Nintendo DS so we have bought her a couple of games for those but I really want to get something different as well. All ideas would be very welcome. Thanks

a photo frame that she can decorate herself with a picture of her  blowing her candles. they usually sale it in craft stores. i think that will be cute and you can get her different kinds of paints and decorations.

how about do her bedroom up like a princess room with a new bed ect kids get quite excited about that or you could take her on a day out so a theme park or something good luck and hope she has a great birthday

I had a thing for dolls, but she might not, so maybe take her on a nice day out ^-^

If she likes animals, the zoo.

If she likes rides, then a themepark.

Maybe just a picnic in a nice park =D
