  1. awww sweet... write him a letter telling him how much he means to you that will make him cry and he'll love it

  2. For an unusual present you could get him a front page paper of the day he was born (on the internet) they aren't too expensive or if you wanted to do something personal you could write him a poem about what he means to you and around it do a montage of pics of the 2 of you together and put it in a nice frame

  3. you could get him a thank you card obviously for being there your whole life...like a b~day card saying thanks if you can find something like that! I would give him a paid trip to hawaii or somewhere exotic that he's never been to and i know you said you didn't have a lot of money well talk to your parents and see if they would bargain...say if you would raise 10,000$ (which is really hard to do jsyk) ask them if they would give you 5,000$ or something just bargain with them and you could also tell friends what you are doing for your 2nd father lol and ask them if they wanted to do like a car wash or something to help you raise money...that is what i did for my grandad and he went to figi with 18,000$ because of the money i raised! have fun giving some money to your loved one

  4. maybe you can make a present for him like a scrapbook.  fill it with pictures of you two and things that he's interested in or things that happened in his lifetime, like you're telling a story.  they even have scrapbook making stuff at the dollar store like different themed papers, stickers, stamps, etc.  you can even make a book of coupons that he can "redeem" like chores that you can do for him....also, a book is always a nice idea if he's into reading (or an audio book).  good luck!

  5. A selection of cards for birthdays and blank cards for his own messages, maybe some stamps to send them in the post.  At 81, maybe he would appreciate not having to get out to buy them
