My family and I will be traveling to Disneyland in July for a Sweet Sixteen celebration. Any special insights or tips to make the trip even more magical and memorable?

Thanks

  1. If you can, don't only go for a weekend, try to stay as long as you can, so that you can go on other rides other than the standard roller coasters and such. They're really fun, and don't skip them, but the other rides are equally as entertaining. Try to catch the parades and other shows (especially the Electric Parade!). And GET FAST PASSES! Those things save so much waiting in line, it's ridiculous.

  2. Have someone who doesn't like roller coasters or something run around and get fast passes for the best rides, so that you don't have to wait in line as long. It's much better, and it's way fast for rides like Soarin' Over California, or California Screamin', and especially Splash Mountain.

Get there EARLY! In the very early morning, when the park is just opening, you can run to your favorite ride and ride it more than once without having to wait in line for very long.

Don't bring anything you don't need; it's just a hassle. Just bring the essentials: sunblock, money, cellphone, water bottle if you're willing to carry it...

Don't bring extra clothes for water rides. It's July and very hot, you'll dry up fast, and you'll want to be wet.

    Stay hydrated.

If you want to buy souvenirs and stuff, buy it at the END of the day, when you're going back to your hotel. So that you don't have to carry your stuff around the whole time.

If you want to eat somewhere popular, like Goofy's Kitchen, call and see if you can make reservations. You don't want to waste time waiting for food.

But most of all, HAVE FUN, and don't be afraid to ride rides you wouldn't normally ride. The risk makes it much more fun!

edit: And if it's your first time there, stay as LONG as possible! Ride every ride you possibly can. And, the night before, talk to the group you'll be with the whole day, and decide on what rides you want to ride first. Make a list, of what you want to ride the most to what you want to ride the least. That way, you won't be arguing on what to ride when you get there. Great timesaver.

  3. Sometimes City Hall can be busy. Just to the left of the main entrance, their is another guest relations office outside the park.  Go in there for the Birthday Pin.

  4. Call 714-781-DINE. You can make special arrangements for your birthday. They have special birthday cakes, birthday party, etc. Or you can look at www.disneyland.com for details.

You can pretty much go to any restaurant and tell them it is your birthday and they will do something special. It might be fun to eat at one of the character restaurants. Another fun place to eat is the Blue Bayou. Make advanced reservations at the above #.

When you first arrive go to City Hall and get a button that says it's your bday. The rest of the day you will be greeted by cast members. Some times you even get a special treat. My daughter got a special Mickey Mouse chocolate chip cookie on her 5th birthday. On her 6th birthday she got a "Dream Visit" with the Princesses when the cast member saw her birthday button.

  5. well i live in florida so i go there about every year, if your looking for rides, in my oppinion, MGM would probebly be the best place to go.

  6. You should do a character meal!

Those are really fun and we, as cast members do anything we can to make a birthday extra magical :D

  7. Wow, i just went to Disney World. If you can, stay at a Disney Resort. You have unlimited use of the parks. **Go to the fireworks at Ecopt in the night time. They do it over the water. Its bice. Make sure you go to see all the parades at Animal Kindgom and Magic Kingdom. The rides are good but you are going to wait in line so be ready. The food is alot of money. Take pictures of all the charcters. Those are my tips.

  8. Definitely go to City Hall and get "Happy Birthday" pin. Everyone else in the group gets stickers that say "Honorary Citizen." The cool thing is that throughout the day cast members who see the pin will say happy birthday. On the Jungle Cruise the skipper will usually have the whole boat sing a song for the birthday person.

At California Adventure at the Mission Tortilla Factory they are supposed to give the birthday person a bag of free tortillas (it's tasty and a great snack for walking around the park!).

  9. get fingered on snow white
