Birthmark? Any makeup artists have advice, please?

Question

Hi everyone, I have a birthmark on my upper lip the size of say a thumb nail and i really hate it.

It stops me from wearing bright lipstick, as im afraid it will show it up even more.

What i was wondering is if mac full coverage foundation would be a good cover up for it? Ive tried the studio finish concealer and green corrector but they slide off very quickly. ive also tried a dermablend concealer but it didnt match my skin, and that slid off quickly too.

So I was just wondering if the mac option would be the best one.

i feel your pain, i do.  i have a birthmark on my leg that covers almost my whole thigh and knee.  a whole bunch of people ask me what happened and i am like "it just a birthmark". some people think it is weird but i was born with it, and there is nothing i can do about it.  my friends and i are totally used to it now, and don't worry about it. i have learned to love my natural features, and i never want them changed. they are part of who i am. laser removal is not very effective, my friend, who is a year younger than i am, got a birthmark on her arm removed, and now she has a scar. she thought her birthmark was bad, but nobody else noticed it.  now she has a scar, and everybody asks what it is from. it is a lot worse than before,...

so i advise you to live with any flaws, because truth is, not many people probably notice.

Try a cream foundation w/ Palladio powder over the top. I have a lot of success covering up everything from pimples, to birthmarks to tattoos doing this. Apply the cream foundation w/ a sponge,(make sure to take it easy on this foundation of you will look caky) then the powder DRY with the sponge that comes with it. ($9.99 at Sally Beauty Supply)
