  1. They are not a breed, they are a mixed breed dog. A Caviler King Charles Spaniel is a breed and a Bichon Frise is a breed. Mixed they are a mutt.  There is absolutely no reason to think they are non allergenic, if someone told you that they are liars.

If you got it from a shelter or rescue, good for you. If you bought it from a pet store or breeder, you bought a poorly bred dog from a sleazy dishonest dirtbag because no responsible breeders breeds two breeds together. Period.

  2. You got a dog BEFORE you researched the breed to make sure it was a right match for you and your lifestyle? Isn't that a little backwards?

Anyway, a simple Google search will tell you all the information you need to know about CKCS's.

  3. Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and want to make sure you care for your King Charles  properly? A Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, as you probably know by now, do require special care and once you learn and understand their needs its not that hard to care for a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

They are  worth every bit of effort of course as they will reward you a hundred fold in enjoyment and unwavering companionship.

Don't make the mistakes many owners do  though and presume a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is cared for the same way as any other dog. They aren't and that mistake could cost you dearly in time, money and heartache.

Maybe you just simply want to have your Cavalier King Charles Spaniel trained a little  better. A dog that pees inside, chews everything in sight,  "pulls"  on a lead, and barks too much  can take some of the fun out of  owning a dog can't it?  And you know a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel can easily be trained when you know how!

If some of this describes you and you would like a healthy, happy,  well  trained Cavalier King Charles Spaniel  that brings years of enjoyment for you and the family, that  doesn't end up costing you a small fortune, then

It's frustrating to  hear about Cavalier King Charles Spaniel owners ending up with big disappointments just because they didn't have the right information at hand.   There is a better way.

  4. ...well for one its not a breed its a mutt and therefore no one can tell you anything about the breed that will be 100% true, go research each breed and go from there.

No dog is 100% hypoallergenic. Both dogs shed, the bichon less than the CKCS, and there is no grantee the pup will have a Bichon coat.

Get a a regular bichon if you are looking for a dog that MIGHT be okay for some with allergies. they affected person will have to be around the dog FIRST to determine if they can handle living with it.

  5. Oh darn...I thought you were asking...are they? MUTTS and I had a  response prepared. YES YES they are MUTTS indeed! Well I guess that answers part of your question at least you now know what "breed" it is.

  6. The Cavachon is a cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Bishon Frise as you said. They are not purebred dogs. That being said mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions. I have two Chihuahua/Poodle mixes myself and they are the best dogs ever. Here is some Cavachon information for you: http://www.designermixes.org/Breed_Info/...

Here is also some information about the two parent breeds of your dog.

    Cavalier King Charles Spaniel: http://www.purebredpups.org/Breed_Info/4...

    Bichon Frise: http://www.purebredpups.org/Breed_Info/2...

    Good Luck with your dog!

  7. Its not a breed..  its a mutt.

And no, its not "non allergenic"..  no breed of dog is 100% hypoallergenic.  Some breeds are more tolerated by allergy sufferers..  while Bichons are ussually tolerated, Cavaliers are not a breed that's generally reccomended for alleriges.

I cant tell you anything about the "breed" because its not a breed at all.. its a mixed breed dog.  It could favor the bichon, or it could favor the Cavalier.. or it could be a complete mix of both.  Mixes dont automatically get specific traits..  there's no guarantees on color, size, coat type, body shape, personality, health, temperment, etc.

  8. Your pup is a cross between a Bichon Frise and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.  The Bichon Frise is pretty good on the non allergenic dept. the King Charles not so much.  I wish you had posted a picture here, I would bet it is cute.

The Bichon Frise part is great for a non dander producing dog.  The King Charles is an average shedder.
