Bishops Heir gets the best odds for Virtuo Wealth Management Ltd Novices´ Chase
Bishops Heir has the best chances for winning the Virtuo Wealth Management Ltd Novices´ Chase at Kelso, England, on Monday, April 2, 2012. The triumphant runner will walk away with a cash prize of £3,249.
Only five runners will be seen in action in the 3 mile and 1 furlong race, scheduled to start at 15:00 GMT, and their names are:
Bishops Heir,
Bob ´n´ You,
Pena Dorada,
Inverlochy Lad, and
Blazing Bull.
The bookmakers have rated Bishops Heir as favourite for today’s race, as he has been in superb form over the past few months.
He has entered six chase races until now, winning just one of them. However, he has secured a couple of runner up positions and one third place finish, which shows that he is fully capable of fighting for the top positions.
The seven-year-old gelding is in great shape at the moment, as his previous five outings have yielded very good results for him. He finished as the runner up in his most recent run by just a neck's distance.
James Ewart’s trainee will definitely attract a lot of bets in the race today. However, he will need to be at his best in order to keep the rest of the runners at bay.
He will be partnered by Brian Hughes, who is nearing a century of victories.
On the other hand, Bob ´n´ You will also be the one to watch out for, as he is a quality runner. He has entered just a couple of chase races, winning none.
The best he could manage was a runner up finish, which suggests that he is quite capable of fighting at the front.
The nine-year-old gelding was in great rhythm some time ago, but his form has dipped to some extent recently.
He will need to make major improvements in order to finish on top of the table at Kelso today.
Ian Williams’ trained runner will be ridden by S. Drinkwater, who is quite inexperienced at this level, but has the potential of becoming one of the best in the business.
He has won five chase races in his career until now.
The remaining three runners cannot be ruled out completely, as they have shown some decent form in their respective careers.
